Paw Prints & Pentagrams :: Part 2

In Part 1 we looked at how a series of synchronicities started to unfold in my life and we skimmed over the surface of some of my very first clues.  If you haven’t read this yet then please go to Paw Prints & Pentagrams :: Part 1, otherwise the information in this section won’t make much sense.

So far we’ve looked at the symbols of the Paw Print, the Pair of Pentagrams, and the initials ‘PP’, in the following movies/shows:

  • Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed
  • Heroes
  • Spiderman
  • Flushed Away
  • The Pink Panther
  • Kung Fu Panda
  • The Chronicles of Narnia

By observing synchronicity I quickly discovered that a theme was beginning to develop but I still didn’t have any solid facts.  I had begun to speculate that the ‘Pair of Pentagrams’ might be referring to a ‘Pair of Suns’, but I had no idea which ‘Suns/Stars’ they represented.  I figured the answer must be in the details somewhere so I revisited the clues found in the Heroes TV show. When I looked again at the Pair of Pentagrams on the tickets (below) I noticed that the Pentagrams were superimposed over a Circle divided into four segments:

2_Heroes

I recognized the Solar Cross (a Circle divided into four quarters) as a symbol which was used in ancient times to represent the Sun. It helped confirm my suspicions that the Pair of Pentagrams did in fact represent a Pair of Suns, or ‘Twin Suns’.

One of these Suns (or Pentagrams) was likely to represent our own 'local' Sun, the one at the centre of our own Solar System, and the most important Sun in regards to life here on Earth, but which Star/Sun did the other one represent? I wondered why it was heavily connected to the Paw Print of the Dog, so it was time to learn more about the Solar Cross to see if there were any more leads:

0_cross

Wikipedia info about the Solar Cross: ‘The Sun Cross, a cross inside a circle, is one of the oldest and most widespread of symbols. The Neolithic symbol combining cross and circle is the simplest conceivable representation of the union of opposed polarities in the Western world. Scratched into stone or painted on pottery, like that of the Samara culture, the crossed-circle symbol has been recovered in such diverse areas as Paleolithic cave sites in the Pyrenees, the Anatolia, Mesopotamia, the Iranian plateau, the cities of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa in the Indus River valley, and throughout indigenous cultures where the Solar Cross represented both the Sun and the element of Fire. In the prehistoric religion of Bronze Age Europe, crosses in circles appear frequently on artifacts identified as cult items and have been connected with the spoked chariot wheel, which at the time was four-spoked, and which in the context of the 'Sun Chariot' may also have had a 'solar' connotation. The Solar Cross may also be compared to the yin-yang symbol of the Eastern world.’

0_A_Solar_Synbols2

I noted in the above paragraph that: ‘the Solar Cross may be compared to the yin-yang symbol’ and it was also  ‘the simplest conceivable representation of the union of opposed polarities in the Western world.’ So I began to visualize the Two Stars (Pair of Pentagrams) in relation to the yin-yang. One Sun was a 'White Star' and the other one was therefore a 'Black Star'.

I now had the symbol of the Paw Print connected to a White Sun and a Black Sun, but still had no idea which Suns/Stars they represented. When I came across the  ‘Pair of Pentagrams’ on this album cover, I took it as a sign that I should focus my attention on the Black Sun:

127_MosDef_blackstar

While chewing this over I also found one of my prime suspects, Claire Bennet from the Heroes TV show, inside the Black Sun/Star:

92_Heroes_Claire5

So did our own local Sun represent the Black or the White Sun? How were these two companions connected, and was it even possible for two Stars to be 'bound' to one another?

The search for the ‘Black Star’ was now on, so while pondering these questions I looked at the different ways the Sun could be symbolized. I found some examples of the Sun Cross ranging from Neolithic rock carvings, to the Native American Caddo Cross, the Swastika (earliest examples dating over 4000 years ago) and the Egyptian Ankh, to name just a few:

13_Crosses

We see the symbol of the Cross everywhere in today’s culture, but I wondered why this particular symbol was used to represent the Sun. I found that the answer was simpler than I first thought. Here we see the Sun in the centre of the Cross, representing the 'hub' of the 'wheel', which every planet in our Solar System revolves around:

13_Crosses2

The Zodiac is divided into twelve segments, representing the moon cycles within the annual Sun cycle, or the twelve months as they're commonly recognized. Within these twelve segments there are a further division of three months into four groups - the four seasons (or four elements), with the 'Sun of God' in the centre of them all:

18_lastsupper

When you highlight the four relevant months - December for the Winter Solstice, March for the Spring Equinox, June for the Summer Solstice, and September for the Autumn Equinox, then the Solar Cross is formed:

13_Crosses3

So armed with this new information I looked back at my key movie snapshots to see if there were any further clues. We've already looked briefly at 'Le Frog' in Flushed Away (pictured alongside the the Pair of Pentagrams) but notice on his jacket buttons that we also see a ‘Pair of Solar Crosses’:

8_Frog

It made sense that the Solar Cross and the Pentagram (two different ways of expressing the same thing: a Star/Sun) should be appearing together in the exact same sequence. It confirmed once again that the Pair of Pentagrams did indeed represent a Pair of Suns, which this image from Heroes had suggested in the first place:

2_Heroes

The next important discovery came when I learned that the Sun can be represented by more than just two dimensional symbols. Human beings can personify the Sun, and it's not anything new. While reading 'The Secret History of the World' by author Jonathan Black I found a perfect example of how the Sun can be represented by a human:

‘In fact the life of Christ Jesus, as it has come down to us, might look like a patchwork of events in the lives of those who came before him: born to a carpenter and Virgin, like Krishna: born on December 25, like Mithras, heralded by a star in the East, like Horus; walking on water and feeding five thousand people from a small basket, like Buddha; performing healing miracles, like Pythagoras; raising from the dead, like Elisha; executed on a tree, like Adonis; ascending to heaven, like Hercules, Enoch and Elijah.
It is hard to find any act or saying to the Jesus of the Gospels that had not been foreshadowed in some way.  Anyone minded to think corrosively will decide to see this as evidence that his life was a fiction.  But in the secret history this is a universal movement of convergence, as the whole cosmos strained to give birth to the new Sun god.’

So Jonathan Black suggested that Jesus Christ may have been the 'Sun of God' rather than the real life 'Son of God'. That would mean that when Christ 'hung on the cross' during his crucifixion, it wasn't meant literally, but was actually an allegory used to signify the Sun 'hanging' in the centre of the Cross of the Zodiac. The further I looked into this concept the more it made sense, and the more examples I found while browsing the internet:

‘The Babylonian Sun God Tammuz (known to the Greeks as Adonis) has many parallels with Jesus Christ: Tammuz was born to a virgin named Mylitta (Mary) on December 25th. In his daily cycle, Tammuz rose from his cave in the morning, travelled across the sky by day, before returning to his cave at night. Tammuz performed miracles and healed the sick. Tammuz suffered a painful death in order to become mankind's savior. Jesus Christ and Tammuz both share striking similarities with the mythology of the Egyptian Osiris/Horus, and the Greek Dionysus/Bacchus - all born of Virgins on the 25th December, all Life/Death/Rebirth deities, all suffering a death to later be reborn from a tomb or cave, and each one personifying the Sun in human form.’

In 'The Secret Teachings of All Ages' by Manly P. Hall I learned: 'For reasons which they doubtless considered sufficient, those who chronicled the life and acts of Jesus found it advisable to metamorphose him into a solar deity. The historical Jesus was forgotten; nearly all the salient incidents recorded in the four Gospels have their correlations in the movements, phases, or functions of the heavenly bodies.’

Manly P. Hall goes on to say that: 'Many deities have been associated with the sun. The Greeks believed that Apollo, Bacchus, Dionysos, Sabazius, Hercules, Jason, Ulysses, Zeus, Uranus, and Vulcan partook of either the visible or invisible attributes of the sun. The Norwegians partook Balder the Beautiful as a solar deity, and Odin is often connected with the celestial orb, especially because of his one eye. Among the Egyptians, Osiris, Ra, Anubis, Hermes, and even the mysterious Ammon himself had points of resemblance with the solar disc. Isis was the mother of the sun, and even Typhon, the Destroyer, was supposed to be a form of solar energy. The two Central American deities, Tezcatlipohica and Quetzalcoatl, while often associated with the winds, were also undoubtedly solar gods.'

I found it fascinating that all these ancient Gods were associated in one way or another with the Sun, and wondered if there might be some kind of connection between these archetypal solar deities and the elusive ‘Black Sun’ which synchronicity was steering me towards.

I wondered why we celebrated the birth of the ‘Sun/Son of God’ each and every year and learned that on December 2lst - 22nd, you have the Winter Solstice when, in the northern hemisphere, the Sun is at the lowest point of its power in the annual cycle. The Sun, the ancients said, had symbolically ‘died’.

By December 25th, the Sun begins its symbolic journey back to the Summer and the peak of its power, and this is why on December 25th it is said that 'The Son/Sun of God was born'. It can all be traced back to Pagan worship of our Sun and it's cyclical 'death' and 'resurrection' each and every year.

The most important thing I unearthed during this research was that personifying the Sun as a character in myth or legend was the oldest trick in the book. A character could be used in a story to represent the Sun, like The Bible for example, and it may not be plainly obvious at first glance. I wondered if the characters who surrounded the symbols of the Pair of Pentagrams in my movie synchronicities might help shed some light on what two stars I was supposed to be paying attention to. Could these 'Sun archetypes' be found within the modern day movies I was investigating?

So rather than focus on the symbols of the Paw Print and Pair of Pentagrams, I began to look at the movie characters (and the actors who played them) to see if they could help shed some more light on the subject.

Around about this time a  new character had come to my attention: a Dog named Gromit.  The next set of synchronicities I stumbled across came in the movie 'Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit' and one of the first things I noticed was the reference to the Paw Prints:

1_Paw_prints

We see Gromit above associated with the Paw Prints and here we see him standing in front of a 'Pair of Solar Disks' (at the top of the image) with the word 'DOG' in the centre:

0_Plane_DogFight_Solar_Disks

The ancient Egyptians used the Winged Solar Disk (seen above) to represent the Sun, making it a perfect substitute for the Solar Cross and the Pentagram:

19_sundisk

The Solar Disk, Solar Cross, and Pentagram are all interchangeable symbols which can be used to represent a Sun/Star, and we see this theme repeated again in the Wallace & Gromit movie in the form of a Pair of Solar Crosses:

0_Bouncy_Castle2

Even the bouncy castle above had strong resonance with the Dog when we consider that this one lands in the centre of it:

0_Buncy_castle_dog_falls

0_Buncy_castle_dog_falls2

We also see Gromit fly past the Solar Disk, emphasizing the relationship between the Dog and the Sun:

0_Plane_Solar_Cross

So far I’d  encountered the Dog, the Paw Prints, and the  Pair of Solar Crosses/Disks in ‘Wallace and Gromit’, so I wasn’t surprised to find Gromit’s  rival clutching another key symbol: the Pentagram:

0_Plane_Pentagram

So what did the Dog have to do with the Pair of Suns? Scooby Doo had been the very first character to introduce me to the Paw Prints and the Pair of Pentagrams.  I’d found the Paw Print of the Dog in the Heroes TV show, Spiderman, and Flushed Away.  I’d encountered the Wolf Paw in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ and now the Dog Paw in ‘Wallace and Gromit’.  It all seemed to be connected to a pair of Suns, one White and one Black, and I was sure that I’d get to the bottom of it once I’d accumulated enough ‘pieces of the puzzle’.  I didn’t realize it at the time but the answer had been staring me in the face all along.

But first let’s take a look at another ‘piece of the puzzle’.  Because I have three children I'm exposed to kids movies a lot of the time, but when I have a moment alone I prefer something a little darker. Many of the synchronicities looked at so far happened in light hearted movies, mainly children's comedies. The Heroes TV show was a more mature outlet for the symbols to present themselves, so I was glad to see that my reoccurring symbols could also be found in the world of adult entertainment as well. Considering I was on the hunt for a ‘Black Star’ it made sense that I should find my next lead in a TV show which is renowned for it’s use of  ‘black humour’.  So let's take a quick look at the unorthodox TV show Dexter, whose star of the show happens to be a serial killer:

3_Dex_Seriously

I'd been looking forward to the launch of the third season of Dexter for a while, and up until this point I hadn't noticed any synchronicities in the show whatsoever. Like I mentioned earlier, I wasn't actively look for these connections, they just seemed to appear in movies or on TV when I least expected them. So I was a little surprised when the very first episode of Dexter called 'Our Father' started off on this image:

3_Dex_Stars

Bingo, I thought. A Pair of Pentagrams to open up the new season of a show I love watching. The scene unfolds like this:

3_Dex_2stars_kitchen

Dexter scoops up one of the Pentagram waffles and hands it to the young boy Cody whose sitting at the kitchen table. Cody asks Dexter if he would come to his school to talk in front of the class about his job as a blood specialist for the police department. Dexter agrees, and they embrace....right in front of an ornament of a Dog:

3_Dex_Dog_kitchen

So the Pair of Pentagrams/Suns and the Dog came together in the opening scene. A promising start, I thought to myself. Later on in the same episode we see Dexter beside a painting of the Sun (left of his head) and the Solar Cross (to his right). Again the ‘Twin Suns’ make an appearance, with Dexter bang in the centre of them both:

3_Dex_Sun_and_Solar_Cross

Here’s a closer look at the Solar Cross to the right of Dexter’s head:

3_Dex_Cross

So far I'd found reference to the Dog, and now two different examples of the 'Pair of Pentagrams', or 'Twin Suns', in a single episode of Dexter. The next thing of interest came in a form I wasn't expecting. We don't actually see the Paw Print anywhere in this episode, but we do see Dexter in his police department standing beside a picture of a Hand Print:

3_Dex_Hand_Print

Here’s a closer look at the ‘Hand Print’ in Dexter’s office:

3_Dex_HandPrint

This was interesting because I'd recently been tidying up my daughters video collection and came across The Little Rascals movie. Below we see that the Paw Print of the Dog (top left), and the Human Hand Print (top right), are both connected to one another:

2_Little_Rascals

On leaving the office (where we just saw the Hand Print) a police Dog grabs Dexter’s attention:

3_Dex_Dog2

The Dog barks at Dexter for no apparent reason at all. This unusual encounter with the Canine confirmed my suspicions that Dexter, the Hand Print, and the Dog were somehow connected to one another, and somehow connected to this investigation:

3_Dex_Dog

Later on in the series we find that a character called ‘Ellen Wolf’ plays a pivotal role in Dexter’s life, emphasizing his relationship with the Canine:

3_Dex_Wolf

So I wondered why there was a connection between the Human Hand Print and the Paw Print of the Dog. Looking back at some of the previous pieces of the puzzle, I found that the web-slinging Peter Parker had banged his hand on the Paw Prints while chasing his school bus:

5_Spidey

In 'Wallace and Gromit' there was a scene in which Wallace's muddy Paw Prints begin to turn into human feet, furthering the connection between the Human Hand/Foot and the Paws:

1_Paw_prints

1_Foot_prints

In ‘Flushed Away’ I found further confirmation when I noticed the Human Foot Print beside the Paw Print:

143_Flushed_Fleet

The lines between the Hand, the Foot, and the Paw Print were all beginning to blur together, and synchronicity seemed to suggest that they were interchangeable with one another. We saw the ‘Red Hand Print’ on the cover of ‘The Little Rascals’ movie, and here we see it once again in the Flushed Away movie alongside the Foot Print of the Frog:

143_Flushed_Frog_Foot2

The Hand Print is a symbol of our individuality.  Everyone’s Hand Print is unique to them, and them alone, and the Red Hand (above) brought to mind something else that’s unique to each human being - ‘Blood’.

The Hand Print/Paw Print synchronicity was brought to my attention through the episode of Dexter which we looked at earlier, and Dexter happens to be a police forensic who analyses blood samples.  He specializes in looking very closely at the gene pool.  Notice the emphasis on the ‘Hand’ and ‘Blood’ in these two images:

dexter

The Human Hand Print is a symbol of individuality, and so is our Blood when we consider that everyone’s DNA is completely unique. This human connection kept reoccurring which suggested, in my mind at least,  that our relationship with the hypothetical ‘Pair of Pentagrams/Stars/Suns’ might be 'skin deep'. I wondered just how deep it went.

Was it engrained in the very fabric of our being - our genetics? Without our Sun there would be no life on planet Earth, or at least not life as we know it, so it seemed a reasonable conclusion that a Sun/Star could impact life at a genetic level.  So what did a ‘Black Sun’ have to do with life on Earth, human genetics, and the Dog?

I’d encountered the symbol of the Black Sun in the Heroes TV show so I took another look to see what I could learn from it.   Heroes deals with the themes of human progress and evolution - normal everyday people awakening to their new 'superhuman' powers. The two key symbols which are repeated throughout the TV show are the ‘Black Sun’ and the ‘DNA strand’:

heroes_dna

As I took a closer look at the show I wasn’t surprised when I found a connection between the lead villain Sylar and ‘Blood’:

5_Sylar_RedHands

In this same scene we encounter Sylar’s ‘Red Hand Print’:

5_Sylar_RedHand_Print

I could therefore connect Sylar to the Black Sun, the DNA Helix, Blood, the Red Hand Print, and the Paw Print and Pair of Pentagrams – which we saw here in one of my very first synchronicities:

2_Heroes2

I could also connect all of these symbols with the letters ‘PP’ through the character ‘Peter Petrelli’:

92_Heroes_twins

So I now had a two new symbols which I could add to the growing list: Blood and the Hand Print:

0_A_HandPrints2

Somehow these synchronicities  seemed to relate back to a time when human civilization 'fell from grace'. Was the ‘Black Sun’ somehow involved in mankind’s fall?  Could this ‘fall’ have happened to us at a genetic level, and if so then what did we lose in the process?

2_Jacobs_Paradise_Lost

Looking  back at the Spiderman movie (where I discovered another of my original clues) I realized that the ‘PP’ resonating Peter Parker was also closely connected to the ‘Red Hand’, after all his web-slinging hand gesture is one of his most unique attributes:

Spiderman_Redhand2

We can associated Spidey with the ‘Red Hand’ but we can also connect him with and the ‘DNA’ and ‘Blood’.  Here we see the enhanced DNA strand of the Spider which bites Peter Parker, resulting in his own genetic transformation:

spidermandna

Something 'clicks' inside the very codons of his DNA, and the hero is reborn into something new. Peter Parker is now the 'Amazing Spiderman'. In Heroes Peter Petrelli can now fly, and his sister Claire Bennet is now 'invincible'. In 'The Chronicles of Narnia' Peter Pevensie and his siblings step through a secret doorway and become immortal. They each, in their own unique way, find the ‘Paradise’ which was once lost to them. I wondered why these reoccurring themes of human evolution were related to the Paw Prints and the Twin Suns. Was synchronicity trying to teach me about this ‘Awakening’ process?

I’d encountered the ‘Red Hand’ which had lead me to some interesting conclusions so I wondered what role the ‘White Hand’ of Dex-star had to play in the investigation:

dexter2

The answer I was looking for came along when I stumbled across a book called ‘Jacobs Ladder’:

2_Jacobs_Ladder2

This new synchronicity seemed to support my latest Blood/DNA hypothesis  because Jacobs Ladder could be interpreted  as a symbolic representation of the human DNA helix.  This synchronicity suggested that  humanities progress up the ‘evolutionary ladder’ (or descension down it) could be governed at the genetic level.

So what could affect humanity at this deep genetic level? What could make us lose touch with ‘Paradise’, and what could help us find it again?  The fact that a Pair of Pentagrams (or Pair of Suns) were involved in the investigation suggested that there were possibly two Suns which were involved in this evolutionary cycle.  From the painting of Jacobs Ladder below, I concluded that a Star/Sun was indeed the likeliest candidate (notice in this image that Jacobs Ladder spirals up into the centre of the Sun):

2_Jacobs_Ladder

To the rational mind it all sounded ludicrous and I had no concrete evidence to support any of these theories. All I had were themes and symbols linked together on a web of synchronicity, patched together by my own imagination. I was fully aware that I was taking things a little too far and needed a more logical down to earth look at the situation.

So I paused and stood back to look at the ‘wider picture’.  So far I’d encountered:

  • The Paw Print
  • The Pair of Pentagrams/Suns/Solar Crosses
  • The letters ‘PP’
  • A Black Sun (Yin) and a White Sun (Yang)
  • The Red/White Hand Print and the Foot Print
  • Blood/DNA
  • Jacobs Ladder
  • The Dog/Wolf, Rat, Frog, Spider

I concluded that I needed to find out some facts before adding any new symbols to the growing list.  If I was to progress further down this twisting rabbit hole I needed to know what the 'Black Sun' was.  I needed a name for it.  So I looked for a professional opinion on the likelihood of our Sun having a partner (or ‘Twin Sun’ as I’d come to refer to it). It seemed like a  good place to start, and as luck would have it I soon found some of the answers I was looking for in the work of an archaeo-astronomer called Walter Cruttenden. Here's an excerpt from his website www.loststarbook.com:

'WALTER CRUTTENDEN is an amateur theoretical archaeo-astronomer and author of the binary theory of precession. As Executive Director of the Binary Research Institute he researches the celestial mechanics of the precession of the equinox, as well as myth and folklore related to this phenomenon. He is the writer-producer of The Great Year, a PBS broadcast documentary film (narrated by James Earl Jones) that explores evidence of astronomical cycles of time known to cultures throughout the ancient world.

Most recently Cruttenden wrote Lost Star of Myth and Time, a book that provides an alternative view of history based on the solar system’s motion through space. It is his belief that the myth and folklore depicting a repeating cycle of Golden Ages and Dark Ages may have a basis in fact, due to the alternating stellar forces that affect Earth as our solar system moves in a 24,000-year binary (dual star) orbit.'

Through his own extensive research Walter Cruttenden believed that our Sun has a companion, or partnering Sun, far out in space, which has influenced the rise and fall of civilization here on Earth over the duration of a 24,000 year cycle, commonly known as the ‘Precession of the Equinox’. To find someone with a credible reputation, suggesting that another star somehow affected life here on Earth, was something of a breakthrough for me.  Cruttenden had already done the scientific research and written a book about it!

I wondered if this companion Star, or ‘Lost Star of Myth and Time’ as Cruttenden referred to it, might somehow be related to the themes of awakening, or DNA activation, which I had observed through movie synchronicities. Cruttenden had already looked at  the likeliest candidates for this companion star and I hoped that his work might point me in the direction of the Black Star.

I wanted to know what Walter Cruttenden was like as a person (mainly to see if he sounded plausible) so I found a free video interview on the internet and watched him talk about the subject matter. After watching the video I felt convinced that I was now on the right track so I purchased his book 'The Lost Star of Myth and Time' to learn as much as I could about the subject of Binary Stars:

52_LostStar

I'm going to refer to some of the passages of the book in my next post, but I'd recommend pausing here to watch Walter Cruttenden discuss some of the key points of the book himself, in this free video interview. Watching this interview proved to be a crucial turning point in my investigation and ultimately led me to the 'Black (Dog) Star' which I’d been searching for. If you're in doubt, here's a two minute clip from the interview to give you an idea what it's like:

Walter Cruttenden interview with Conscious Media Network

To watch the complete  half hour video interview then you’ll need to go to  www.ConsciousMediaNetwork.com and if you're not already a member then you will need to fill out a quick registration form. This is completely free and takes less than a minute to do. Once you've registered and logged in then you can click here to watch Part 1 in full. It'll take about 40 minutes.

That's only the first part of the interview so to go a little deeper then click here for Part 2. If you'd rather continue reading on then make sure you come back to these interviews when you get a chance, or you'll miss out on a vital piece of the puzzle.

That’s it for this section.  In the next post I’m going to move away from the movie synchronicities (temporarily) and concentrate on some of the more grounded research found in Walter Cruttenden’s book ‘The Lost Star of Myth and Time’.  I’m also going to take this investigation to Africa to uncover some important information about the ‘Black Sun’ which has somehow survived in the mystery teachings of a remote indigenous tribe.  This will set things up nicely when we revisit the movies in Part 4 and we find out what else we can learn about the Black Dog Star.

Thanks for reading!
